Our summer travel is over. Twice this year we reserved in
advance for a large site that we could fit in and both times the
site was not available when we arrived at the park. One of two
things is happening here. Either they're telling us what we want
to hear to get us into their park, or they really DON'T care
whether they accommodate us or not. I ask for a long site
because I need it, not because bigger is better. The second time
this happened was at Houston West RV Park in Brookshire, TX. We
reserved WELL in advance for an 82 foot site. When we arrived we
were told that the day before they had given that site to
someone else for the last two days of our stay. They said we
could have that site but we'd have to move the last two days.
Why should I have to move? I reserved the site first. So rather
than pull out and go somewhere else I accepted the smaller site.
When the other party arrived, it was a 16 foot travel trailer.
Why oh Why does a 16 foot travel trailer need an 82 foot pull
through? And why did the management feel that their money was
better than mine? I have now made a pact with myself. The next
time this happens I will DRIVE AWAY and they will get $0 from
me. I will stay at a Wal-Mart parking lot if there is nothing
else available rather than give my money to a park that
obviously doesn't care.
